INVESTIGATION OF THE FILTRATION OF VISCOUS HYDROCARBON LIQUIDS IN THE PRESENCE OF AN ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD

An investigation has been made into the characteristic properties of filtration of hydrocarbon fluids (oils) having various physicochemical properties in the presence of low-power electromagnetic fields. A procedure for physical and mathematical modeling of oil filtration in an electromagnetic field is provided. The paper presents the results of experimental investigations indicating the dependence of oil filtration parameters on the content of high-molecular polar components. It is shown that the dielectrophoretic forces acting in a direction perpendicular to the direction of oil filtration change the isolines of pressure distribution in the oil system, which results in a reduction of the oil flow rate in its filtration under the action of an electromagnetic field. The intensity of these forces is the higher, the higher is the content of polar components in the oil and the higher is the strength of the field applied
