EROSION LASER TORCH IN THE LIGHT OF THE
GATING RADIATION FROM AN AUXILIARY LASER

A gating laser illumination pulse has been used to visualize 
different stages of the formation of the liquid-drop phase formed 
by the hydrodynamic mechanism in the erosion laser torch of a metal. 
Analysis of the sequence of photographs obtained under different irradiation 
conditions has been performed.
