NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF THE INFLUENCE OF ROTARY REAR CYLINDERS ON A NONSTATIONARY WAKE BEHIND AN ELONGATED BODY
P. A. Baranov, S. A. Isaev, and A. E. Usachev UDC 532:517.2 The influence of rotary rear cylinders on a nonstationary wake behind a rounded-off plate is analyzed numerically based on the solution of nonstationary Navier-Stokes equations on multiblock computational grids by the finite-volume method. It is shown that the von Karman vortex trail, which develops behind the body to the point of formation of a virtually steady jet flow, substantially weakens as the rotational velocity of the cylinders increases.
