HYDRODYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF MAGNETICALLY FLUIDIZED BEDS CONSISTING OF A MIXTURE OF MAGNETIC AND NONMAGNETIC MATERIALS
V. L. Ganzha and S. C. Saxena UDC 66.096.5 The velocity of the beginning of fluidization and the porosity of a bed were investigated for a mixture of cast-iron (dp = 1.086 mm) and copper (dp = 1.086 mm) particles fluidized in a homogeneous external magnetic field of an intensity of up to 5662 A/m. By analyzing the forces that act on the magnetic particles the authors obtained an expression for calculating Umb in a bed consisting of a mixture of magnetic and nonmagnetic particles. The calculation results are compared with the experimental data. JEPTER74920200012 JEPTER7492012
