NONLINEAR EQUATION FOR THE TRANSITION OF A FLOW 
TO A TURBULENT REGIME

We derive an equation that describes  the  transition 
of a liquid flow from a laminar  to a turbulent  flow 
regime  and  in  which  the  nonlinear  character  of 
the equations of hydrodynamics is taken into account. 
The problem of the eigenvalues of the  parameters  of 
this   equation   for  a  nonviscous  liquid  flow is 
investigated.  It  is  shown   that,   according   to 
the  nonlinear  equation,  transition  to a turbulent 
flow  regime  occurs  at  higher  velocities  than in 
the case of the linear theory.
