We analyze the basic trends in the use of electric-arc
plasma for radioactive waste decontamination. We present
a scheme and performance figures of a process for a
shaft-type furnace with fuel-plasma heating. We present
the results of numerical and experimental investigations
for a 150-kW direct-flow plasma reactor.
