The behavior of a circular magnetic fluid seal in
the narrow gap between an immovable shaft and
a rotary hyperbolic concentrator of the magnetic
fluid flow surrounding it is studied. The range
of the dimensionless rotation parameter within
which the seal is stable is determined.
