A calculation of stress and deformation fields in
ceramic fibers formed by the method of chemical vapor deposition onto
a heated substrate is performed within the framework of linear elasticity
theory. Optimum parameters for fibers with a homogeneous structure,
a layered structure, and a gradient one are sought.
