Based on a solution of the problem of the temperature
effect of instantaneous heat sources uniformly distributed
in a thin plane ring on the boundary of a semiinfinite
body and different approximations of that solution,
we constructed a dynamic model of a thermal field
on the surface of a material heated by a laser pulse
in a narrow ring of illumination.
